About: The 2011 Rookies Cup makes a stop off at Estoril, Portugal for the first time. Two races each in Portugal and the UK have increased this year's number of races from 10 to 14 as the competition continues to grow from strength to strength.

Previously known as the 'sleeper' event of the European race calendar, it's now safe to say that Estoril has well and truly woken up! The 4.36km circuit is one of the slowest overall yet has the fastest straight, second only to Mugello, topping a mind-blowing 340kph. This final straight 'home run' comes out of the very fast final curve guaranteeing action. Estoril has some of the least expensive tickets in MotoGP, although the facilities are a bit spartan and seats unnumbered. However for a song you get one of the best all-around viewing experiences in Grandstand E in the back corners for a great view of the unique uphill chicane.
