LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

If you’re local to the Tri-State area, you are probably familiar with many of the incredible attractions to visit in New York and Jersey City now including the Red Bull Air Race in June. For those of you from out of town, be sure to visit the following United States’ landmarks and local attractions to add to your scrapbooks:

Liberty State Park - Home of the Statue of Liberty. Ellis Island and Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal, these landmarks serve as one of the United States‘ most dramatic stories: the immigration of northern, southern, and eastern Europeans into the United States. After being greeted by the Statue of Liberty and processed at Ellis Island, these immigrants purchased tickets and boarded trains, at the Central Railroad Terminal, that took them to their new homes throughout the United States. The Terminal served these immigrants as the gateway to the realization of their hopes and dreams of a new life in America. Ferry tours will be open during the race weekend to ensure all guests are able to experience these historic tributes to the nation’s history.

Central Park - Central Park is one of the urban wonders of the world, a green oasis in the great concrete, high-rise landscape of New York City. It is so naturally part of the Manhattan environment that many people may not realize it is entirely man-made. It begins on 59th Street and heads up to 110th Street between Fifth Avenue and Central Park West.

Chinatown - Chinatown New York City is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Manhattan. Chinese immigrants settled in the area in the 1800's. Chinatown offers a unique historical and cultural experience not found anywhere else in the world. It’s also a great place to eat.

Times Square - Times Square is a major intersection in Manhattan, a borough of New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. The theaters of Broadway and the huge number of animated neon and LED signs have long made them one of New York's iconic images, and a symbol of the intensely urban aspects of Manhattan. Catch a show, enjoy a good meal or shop til you drop.

Soho - SoHo in New York City is the most unique shopping area of the world. With everything from art stands on the street to high-end boutiques, SoHo is certain to exceed everyone's expectations. It’s located South of Houston, above Canal Street, between Avenue of the Americas and Broadway.

Lower East Side - Home to a mix of the historic and the hip, New York’s Lower East Side (LES) is where classic architecture meets contemporary art, vintage threads meet vogue fashion and multigenerational, family-owned bargain shops sit beside cutting-edge boutiques. The LES has something for everyone!

Brooklyn - Brooklyn NY has something for everyone. Whether your interests lie in architecture, museums or amusement parks in Brooklyn, festivals or futbol, culture or night clubs and nightlife, you'll find just what you're looking for, plus things you never expected, right here in Brooklyn.
