In his latest blog, Dani Pedrosa expresses gratitude for the support he’s had while recovering from his collarbone fracture, and has some encouraging words of his own for fellow riders ahead of his return to MotoGP at Phillip Island.

Hello everyone

First of all I want to say a special thankyou for all the supportive messages you have sent me during my recovery and to let you know how much I appreciated all the words of encouragement that I have received. I wish I could have repaid that spirit on the bike in Malaysia, but sometimes you have to be careful and do things in due time.

Now I have to think ahead to Australia. We still have to be cautious, but the feeling now is much improved. I have regained mobility and strength, the two key factors before I can climb back onto the bike.

'I would be especially excited if my friend Marc Márquez took the 125 championship'

The important thing now is to continue the progress that we have made in recent days, but we must take into account how my collarbone will react when I return to action. But I will try to score as many points as possible to secure second place in the championship’s final straight. That is the goal.

I want again to congratulate Jorge Lorenzo for his championship. I think his success from the start of the season and the fact that he made fewer errors than other riders make him a worthy recipient of the title. The same congratulations go to Toni Elías, who has also achieved a deserved title in the Moto2 category, which has been just as competitive.

It's been a magnificent season for Spanish motorcycling, and it will be even more so when they complete the treble with a Spanish champion in 125, which there will inevitably be. Marc Márquez, Pol Esparagaró or Nico Terol – any of those three would deserve the title in what’s been a great season for them all. The truth is that I would be especially excited if my friend Marc took the championship, so I hope he can take courage from his recent races and have a strong end to the season. He has done brilliantly, winning in Malaysia. Congratulations, Marc, and best of luck!

Dani
