The Red Bull Soundclash is coming back to Sydney, Australia, and it’s bigger than ever. This year two bands from both ends of the musical spectrum will enter the arena to fight the ultimate musical battle: Little Red and Downsyde.
The Red Bull Soundclash is all about... the clash. Not just the musical fight over four rounds, challenging the musicians creativity and ability to pull the crowd onto their side. It’s also a clash of genres and the Red Bull Soundclash in Sydney on October 2 will be the perfect example: the dynamic hip-hop force of Downsyde will collide with the melodic indie-rock of Little Red.

Little Red: formed in Melbourne in 2005, their debut-EP Get Ready, a collection of doo-wop harmonies and punk rock guitars, was released the following year. Since then the five-piece has been selling out gigs, playing at major Australian festivals and supported as diverse acts as Queens of the Stone Age and Duran Duran. Their debut album Listen to Little Red, which was crowned Album of the Week on Triply J.
Downsyde. The Hip Hop collective trace their origins back to Perth in 1996. Down the years their influence has been felt all over Australia's burgeoning hip-hop scene. Lead MC Optamus is the king of high speed rhymes, beats are by DJ Armee, drums by Hi-Hat and some keys, samples and other visual and surprise effects by Cheeky provide a killer groove on stage. With Disasta and Shabazz on the other mics.

Like at all Red Bull Soundclashes, the crowd are the judges and the winner will be decided by how high the decibel meter will strikes when the audience roars.
